Twice Jussi nominated cinematographer combining two decades at the color wheels including onset grading for Bob Richardson in World War Z. Pena is often chosen for his ability to intimately understand the language of fellow cinematographers and their original intention. For him it is all about exploring the possibilities of the image while respecting the vision of the film makers. In finnish we call it “näkemys”, unfortunately only loosely translatable as sentiment or opinion. ACES advocate and our general guardian of quality (occasional tyrant). Pena has almost finished building his large format 8x10" camera, a project that has lasted a mere 40 years. Lives surprisingly in the historical quarters of Porvoo.
